Refund Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Scope
This policy covers refunds and cancellations for Banklink subscription plans and wallet credit purchased through banklink.co.za. It applies alongside the Terms of Service, and takes precedence over Section 6.5 of those Terms where the two differ.
Paddle.com Market Limited acts as the merchant of record for these purchases. Payments are processed by Paddle, invoices and receipts are issued by Paddle, and approved refunds are returned by Paddle to the original payment method.
Fees agreed under a separate order form or enterprise pricing schedule are governed by that document rather than this policy.
2. Subscription plans
A new subscription may be refunded in full within 14 days of the first charge. Request it within that window and the full amount is returned, whether or not fetch jobs were run.
Renewal charges are not refundable. This applies to both monthly and annual renewals. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Outside the 14-day window described in 2.1, the unused remainder of a paid period is not refunded.
A change of plan takes effect on the next billing date. Moving between plans mid-period does not generate a refund or a pro-rata credit.
3. Wallet credit and pay-per-use
Unused wallet credit is refundable on request. The unspent balance is returned to the original payment method; there is no time limit on asking.
Credit already consumed by completed fetch jobs is not refundable, since the work was performed and the data delivered.
Failed fetch jobs and cached API reads are not charged. If a job fails, no credit is deducted and there is nothing to refund.
4. Billing errors and service failures
Duplicate charges, charges to a cancelled subscription, and amounts billed in error are refunded in full once confirmed. The 14-day window in 2.1 does not apply to these.
If you were charged for a fetch job that returned no data because of a fault on the Banklink side, the credit is returned to your wallet or refunded, at your choice.
Bank-side outages, changed bank credentials, and expired end-user consent are not Banklink faults. Jobs that fail for those reasons are not charged in the first place, per 3.3.
5. How to request a refund
Email support@banklink.co.za from the address on the account. Include the Paddle transaction or invoice number from your receipt, and say what you are asking to be refunded.
We acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and decide within 5 business days. If a request is declined, we say why.
Approved refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. The amount usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Refunds are made in the currency of the original charge. Where a card issuer applied a conversion, the amount you receive may differ slightly because of exchange rate movement between the two dates.
6. Exclusions
Refunds are not available for accounts terminated for breach of the acceptable use provisions in Section 7 of the Terms of Service.
Not using the Services during a paid period is not on its own a ground for a refund, outside the 14-day window in 2.1.
7. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, where those Acts apply to your purchase. Where a statutory right gives you more than this policy does, the statutory right applies.
8. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy. The revised version is published on this page with an updated date, and applies to purchases made after that date. Purchases made earlier are governed by the version in force at the time.
9. Contact
Refund and billing questions go to support@banklink.co.za. For queries about a Paddle receipt or invoice specifically, Paddle can also be contacted directly through the link on that receipt.
